Science Day is a one-day event hosted at Harvey Mudd College in the spring. It brings elementary school students from the schools we work in to campus for a day of fun science activities, demos, and a lunch including liquid nitrogen ice cream!
This year, Science Day was held on March 27th at Harvey Mudd. Check out the activities below!
| Event | Description | | Chemistry Show | Opening event with fiery combustions and color changing acid-base reactions! | | Physics Activities | Explore rotational motion and centripetal force with balloons, water buckets, and more. | | Robotics Challenge | Pretend you are a computer and guide a real robot through a maze! | | Biology Role Playing | Interactive games involving DNA and neurons. |
Spring 2009 Schedule:
First, our very own Professor Benjamin will do his Mathemagics show! Come see the magic of math and the math of magic!
There will also be four "challenges" with fun, hands on science:
| Event | Description | | Puff-Mobile Challenge | Build a car powered completely by air and race against your friends! | | Physics Demos | Learn about the mystery of mechanics through some exciting physics activities and demonstrations. | | Robotics Challenge | Pretend you are a computer and guide a real robot through a maze! | | CSI: Claremont | A crime has been committed at Harvey Mudd and you've been called in to investigate... learn about forensic science and solve the mystery! |
